Amanda S

Amanda has been working here at Prairie View Animal Hospital since May of 2010.  She is a member at the Fox Valley Saddle Association, and enjoys riding her horses every day. Amanda has two ponies named Buddy and Sierrah, and two quarter horses named Willy and Sox.  She also has multiple dogs: A Great Dane named Crash, an Australian Shepherd named Mack, and a Bulldog mix named Roni. In her spare time, Amanda, enjoys playing volleyball and softball, riding her horses, walking her dogs, and spending time with her husband Nick. She also just finished classes to become a dog groomer!             

Amy G

Amy has been working in the veterinary field since 2008 and here at PVAH since April 2012. Amy grew up in Fargo, North Dakota. Amy attended Minnesota State University Moorhead from 1999 to 2003 where she received her BA in criminal justice and sociology. She then attended North Dakota State University from 2005 to 2010 where she received her BS in veterinary technology and minored in large animal veterinary technology. Amy has two Chihuahuas named Fonzie & Caddie. She also has a Quarter Horse named Chance. In her spare time, Amy enjoys horseback riding and attending AQHA horse shows.  She also enjoys spending time with her husband Ryan and her adorable son Charlie.

Angie S

Angie has been working in the veterinary field and here at Prairie View Animal Hospital since 2004. She recently returned from 3 months away in Vermont as an environmental educator & raptor handler.  Angie also works at the Morton Arboretum and enjoys landscaping. Angie has been involved with breeding and raising goats for the FFA. Angie’s pets include 3 cats named Petunia, Sophie, and Yoshi and 2 Great Pyrenees Border Collie Mixes named Mater and Cali.  Angie attended Northern Illinois University to achieve her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. In her spare time, Angie enjoys traveling, horseback riding, hiking, and doing agility with her dogs.    

Ashlynn C. 

Ashlynn started at Prairie View in September of 2017. She’s had a passion for animals ever since she was raised with the stray animals that her mom brought home from a veterinary hospital. You could say she grew up with a small zoo! She is one of our receptionists and kennel employees. She is currently attending Northern Illinois University for her BS in Public Health. She hopes to graduate from NIU by May 2020. Her pets consist of a schnauzer named Prince, a terrier mix named Fergie and a miniature dachshund (wiener dog) named Forrest. Ashlynn also fosters orphaned animals for Anderson Animal Shelter in Elgin. She enjoys reading, hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, taking her dogs for a walk and/or to the dog park.  P.S. puppies pictured are not hers (as much as she wishes they were)



Christa R

Christa has been involved with horses most of her life and worked in the animal related field since 1989.  She has been at Prairie View since 2001.  She grew up in Shabbona, IL Christa attended Kishwaukee Community College and received her AS in Agriculture and at the University of Illinois she received her BS in Animal Science.  Christa is involved with the Waterman Bible Church. She also enjoys trail riding, horse shows, camping and family time with her husband Dewayne and their children (Riley, Rylie Margaret, Makayla, and Chase).  Their family also includes their dogs Ruby, Minka, Chisum, Pearl and Joey, 1 house cat named Tinsel, and their 6 horses Teddy, J.G., Shiloh, Diamond, Houston, and Sparky.

Debbie K

Debbie has been at Prairie View and in the Veterinary field since May of 1996. Debbie spends most of her free time with her son Paul born November, 2006, attending all of his sporting events.  Debbie enjoys scrapbooking and traveling to numerous baseball fields around the United States. Debbie grew up in Arlington Heights, and moved to the De Kalb area to study at Northern Illinois University. Debbie graduated from NIU in 1988 with a Bachelor’s in Education.  Debbie is a supporter of The American Cancer Society (cancer.org/donate) for colon cancer research in memory of her husband Tony.

Hannah

Hannah E

Hannah started at Prairie View Animal Hospital in January of 2018 and has always had a passion for animals. She is one of our receptionists and kennel employees. She is currently a Pre-Veterinary student studying Biological Sciences at Northern Illinois University. She plans to graduate from NIU in May of 2020 and then go on to vet school. In her spare time, Hannah likes to spend time with family, friends, and her 2 year old Golden Retriever, Maddie.

Jasmine L

Jasmine has been working for us since March 2018. Jasmine started here as an extern from RCC where she received her Veterinary technician degree. Jasmine grew up in Stockton, IL. Jasmine has a cat named Scarlet. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and boyfriend Matt. She likes to read, travel, and cook. 



Jen H

Jennifer started here at Prairie View as an extern from Rockford Career College. She was hired as a veterinary technician in July of 2012 after graduating from RCC. Jennifer has worked with animals since 2002, managing a boarding kennel for 6 years before deciding to pursue a career as a certified veterinary technician.  Jennifer also has an Associates of science degree from Kishwaukee College & a Bachelors of Science degree from NIU.  Jennifer grew up in Cortland and now lives in Malta with her chocolate lab named Kaya and her Shih Tzu named Bella. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time at her family's cabin on the Rock River, running, hiking & watching/attending as many Chicago Bears, Cubs, Bulls & Blackhawks games as she can! 

Kate B

Kate started working in the veterinary field when she was 15 years old as a kennel worker, and has been here at Prairie View Animal Hospital since January of 2007.  In the past, Kate has been a trail escort at a horseback riding stable, a volunteer at wildlife rescues, and a horseback riding instructor for disabled children. Kate and her husband Matt have a bunch of furry children consisting of: 2 Anatolian Shepherds named Brock & Tillie, a Cairn Terrier named Maddie, a Chihuahua mix named Roo, and a Pitt Bull named Olin. They also have cats, chickens, goats, and a pig! In her spare time, Kate enjoys horseback riding, bike riding, camping, and hiking.

Liz K

Liz, a.k.a. The Cleaning Machine joined our staff part-time in2007.  She grew up in Hampshire and currently lives in DeKalb, IL with her family. Liz enjoys a wide variety of activities including drawing, painting, riding her bike, cooking, eating, watching old movies, and spending time with her family & friends. Liz has several family pets consisting of 2dogs, Hansel & Stella, her cats Rosie & Lilly, a turtle named Senior Huevo, and her fish Stevie & Fernando.

Maddy E

Maddy is our newest employee. She works reception and kennels for us. She started here April 2018. She loves all animals. Prior to working here Madison was an employee at the Summerfield Zoo. Maddy owns 2 old English Bulldogs named Paisley & Josie. She also has 5 cats named Uno, B, Caramel, Zuma, & Violet. In her free time she loves to ride horses. Maddy grew up in Morengo, IL and is currently here in DeKalb as an NIU student. She is a volunteer for Tiny n Tall Dog Rescue. Maddy also loves beach vacations and spending time with friends. 



Nancy S

Nancy has been in the veterinary field since 1988 and has worked in various private practices since 1990.  She has been at Prairie View since 1999. Nancy grew up in Leland, IL.  She attended Parkland College and received her associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology in1988.  In her community, she is an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching her sons play sports, and singing with her band, the Distractions. Nancy's family includes her husband Rod and their three sons Ryan, Curtis, and Brett.  Nancy has 2 dogs; Cubby a Maltese and Bailey a Schnauzer.

 

Sara D.

Sara D 

Sara D is a receptionist and technician here at Prairie View! She has been visiting here since she was little but started working here in 2011. Sara grew up in Sycamore, IL and she has recently graduated with her BA in Biology from Augustana College in Illinois and is looking to pursue a career in ocean conservation. She has a 3 year old black lab at home named Ariel that is her whole world. In her free time Sara enjoys spoiling Ariel, scuba diving, dog training, and just about anything outdoors!



Sarah C

Sarah has worked at Prairie View since December 2007.  Sarah grew up in Chicago, and moved to the DeKalb area in 1993,where she attended Sycamore High School.  She is currently enrolled at Kishwaukee Community College. Sarah has 2 cats named Muffin & Bruce, a Golden Retriever named Rosebud, and several types of birds: finches, chickens, guinea fowl, and ducks. Sarah and her husband Rodney have a daughter, Anabelle, who likes swimming, playing in the snow, and writing stories.

Sarah K

Sarah has been in the veterinary field since 1999 and has been with Prairie View Animal Hospital since October of 2002.  She grew up in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and attended James B. Conant High School.  She received her bachelors in liberal arts and sciences with a major in biological sciences and a minor in philosophy from Northern Illinois University in June of 2006. Sarah has a miniature Labrador Retriever named Irwin, a Dauchund mix named Pretzel, and a very old Maltese named Zoom. She also has several cats named Keatzel, Peg Leg, Bindi Sue, and Rory.  In her spare time, Sarah enjoys traveling, visiting national parks, hiking, and spending time with her friends & very large family. She is also a volunteer and foster home for Cause for Paws Rescue (causeforpaws.net).



Kevin T. 

Kevin started at Prairie View in May of 2017 as a kennel worker and receptionist. Kevin grew up in Sycamore, IL and graduated from Sycamore High School in 2015. He is currently attending Northern Illinois University studying Biochemistry, and plans to attend vet school following graduation. Kevin enjoys spending his free time with family, friends, and especially his two year old Yorkie-Poo Rizzo. In the summers Kevin travels with Sycamore United Methodist Church’s LIFE missions doing mission work both locally and abroad; most recently to Nicaragua and Belize.
