Amanda

Amanda is a receptionist and veterinary assistant here at PVAH. She started in July 2022. She graduated from the Kishwaukee College Veterinary Assistant program in 2022.  Amanda grew up in Elgin where she attended South Elgin High School then Elgin Community College where she graduated with honors. Amanda’s veterinary interest is in surgical assisting. Amanda also volunteers at Tails and attends their Mutt Strutt every year. Amanda and her husband, Vince, enjoy building racecars, dirt track racing, attending Nascar races, and watching the Chicago Blackhawks. Amanda has a Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix named Buddy.

Chase

Chase is one of our technician assistants. He started here in August of 2020 as a kennel worker and quickly moved up because of his hard work & love for animals. Chase has two career loves, animals and plants. If you don’t see him here, he is off working at a garden center. Chase has (according to him) the best cat in the world, named Fender. He was adopted from Tails after having surgery here for a fracture repair after being hit by a car. The poor guy had a rough start but he now has a great home.

Delaney

Delaney is one of our kennel workers. She started here April of 2019. She lives and grew up in Sycamore, Illinois. Delaney and her family have 2 dogs, a Mastiff named Bella and a Boxer mix named Emmy. Delaney is currently a Sycamore High School student and hopes to become a nurse practitioner someday. In her free time she enjoys bowling and kayaking. Delaney is also a part of FFA and Life Missions. 

Nancy, CVT

Nancy has been in the veterinary field since 1988 and has worked in various private practices since 1990.  She has been at Prairie View since 1999. Nancy grew up in Leland, IL.  In her spare time Nancy enjoys travel, hiking, and reading. She attended Parkland College and received her associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology in 1988.

Sara D 

Sara D is a receptionist and technician here at Prairie View! She has been visiting here since she was little but started working here in 2011. Sara grew up in Sycamore, IL and she has recently graduated with her BA in Biology from Augustana College in Illinois and is looking to pursue a career in ocean conservation. She has an 8 year old black lab at home named Ariel that is her whole world. In her free time Sara enjoys spoiling Ariel, scuba diving, dog training, and just about anything outdoors!

Sarah C

Sarah has worked at Prairie View since December 2007.  Sarah grew up in Chicago and moved to the DeKalb area in 1993, where she attended Sycamore High School.  She graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2022 with a degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, and Wellness. She has 2 cats named Bruce and Ralph and a golden retriever named Rosebud. Sarah enjoys outdoor activities such as gardening, camping, and hiking.

Sarah M

Sarah has been in the veterinary field since 1999 and has been with Prairie View Animal Hospital since October of 2002.  She grew up in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and attended James B. Conant High School.  She received her bachelors in liberal arts and sciences with a major in biological sciences and a minor in philosophy from Northern Illinois University in June of 2006. Sarah and her husband have a miniature Labrador Retriever named Irwin, a Dauchund mix named Pretzel, a very old blind poodle named Tilly, a tripod maltese puppy named Sprout, and an MPS-Vi pit bull named Forrest. Sarah is a member of the MPS army which helps bring awareness to this genetic disease. She has had 3 dogs with this disease, Whiskey, River and currently Forrest. She also has several cats named Keatzel, Peg Leg, Bindi Sue, Blacky, Gracie, and Rayne.  In her spare time, Sarah enjoys traveling with her husband Brian, visiting national parks, hiking, and spending time with her friends & very large family. She is also a volunteer and foster home for Cause for Paws Rescue (causeforpaws.net).

Autumn

Autumn started here in 2023 as a receptionist. She grew up in Kirkland but went to college at Iowa State University where she graduated with a BS in Animal Ecology. Autumn enjoys sand volleyball, cooking, baking, and anything in the great outdoors. Autumn has a dog named Luna who is a German Shepard and Huskie mix.

Kristin, CVT

Kristen joined our team January of 2023 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. Her veterinary interests are in surgical assistance. Kristen grew up in Villa Park and attended St. Charles North High School. For college she went to Elgin Community College for an associate in Arts and then went to Joliet Junior College for her associates in Science/Veterinary Technology. Kristen recently moved to the Dekalb area with her fiance Josh and they have 2 cats named Archer and Marty. In her free time, Kristen enjoys playing video games, board games, or bowling with Josh. She also enjoys hiking and spending time with her family and friends.

Ella

Ella has been a client of Prairie View for many years but just started working here in 2023. Ella graduated from Dekalb High School in 2021. She enjoys playing volleyball and spending time with her friends. Ella's family has 3 dogs, Rizzo is a Labrador Retriever mix, Wrigley is a senior Dachshund, and Rip is a Weimaraner. Ella also enjoys pet sitting and dog walking.
